How I survive myself
call on angels
count my blessings
find the sound track
that fits my life and sing it
(I’ve drummed myself back
to sanity more than once)
allow time-limited bouts of weeping
then make myself get on with living
cling to the golden thread
practice meditation
focus on love, peace, joy, healing
when it’s bad, keep on breathing
phone the Samaritans when need to
(and pray I get a good one)
cradle my inner child sometimes
eavesdrop on sub-personalities arguing
take remedies and supplements
do healing rituals in sacred spaces
reach out from now to the eternal
